*** As of September 1, 2017, all 1544 currently identified CDC DPPs are under review by DiabetesLocal to provide more usable information for understanding and contacting the specific program ***

A CDC-recognized DPP in-person lifestyle change program, you'll learn, laugh, share stories, try new things, and build new habits-all while lowering your risk of type 2 diabetes and improving your health.
Key components of the program include:
* CDC-approved curriculum with lessons, handouts, and other resources to help you make healthy changes.
* A lifestyle coach, specially trained to lead the program, to help you learn new skills, encourage you to set and meet goals, and keep you motivated. The coach will also facilitate discussions and help make the program fun and engaging.
* A support group of people with similar goals and challenges. Together, you can share ideas, celebrate successes, and work to overcome obstacles. In some programs, the participants stay in touch with each other during the week. It may be easier to make changes when you're working as a group than doing it on your own.

A CDC-recognized lifestyle change program is a structured program—in person or online—developed specifically to prevent type 2 diabetes.

A CDC-recognized lifestyle change program is a structured program—in person or online—developed specifically to prevent type 2 diabetes. It is designed for people who have prediabetes or are at risk for type 2 diabetes, but who do not already have diabetes.

A trained lifestyle coach leads the program to help you change certain aspects of your lifestyle, like eating healthier, reducing stress, and getting more physical activity. The program also includes group support from others who share your goals and struggles.

This lifestyle change program is not a fad diet or an exercise class. And it’s not a quick fix. It’s a year-long program focused on long-term changes and lasting results.
